VIDEO: The Discovery of ATLANTIS?

Has the legendary lost city of Atlantis finally been discovered?

“Absurd!”, you say. “Atlantis is nothing but a mythical city that Plato invented for the sole purpose of sinking it at the end of his tale to make a dramatic point about the dangers of mankind’s hubris.”

What most people don’t know is that the story of Atlantis was not Plato’s, alone. It was a story that the Greek statesman and poet, Solon, first heard when traveling in Egypt over 100 years before Plato was born, which he brought back to Athens and wrote down.

Plato merely resurrected it in his dialogs, “Timaeus” and “Critias”, but the details of when and where it existed are all there for the studious eye to pick up on.

Similarly, the tale of Troy, as told by Homer in, “The Iliad”, was once thought to be nothing more than a myth, until a successful businessman named, Heinrich Schliemann, took Homer’s account at face value and followed the clues left behind in the story… and it led him right to the very real archaeological site of Troy!

Well, I’ve been following the exploits of several people who have set their sights on discovering the location of the lost city of Atlantis for a very long time and this video series by Bright Insight, on YouTube, which condenses another documentary by two explorers who believe they have found Atlantis, is, BY FAR, the most compelling thing you will ever see on the subject.

Over the decades that I’ve been interested in this subject, many sites have been put forth as the possible location, like the island of Santorini in the Mediterranean. However, I knew this could not be a contender because, for all it’s similarities to Plato’s description, it is not “beyond the Pillars of Hercules”, what we now call, The Strait of Gibraltar.

The location shown in this video series, “The Eye of The Sahara”, is (or, rather, was)!

I will shut up now and let you dig into these videos and let you come to your own conclusion. The documentary this condenses is also on YouTube, but I will leave it up to you to search out if you want to learn more.

Enjoy!
